Is my document uploaded?
No. The .docx file is unpacked and converted in your browser. It never leaves your device.
Does it work with .doc files?
Only .docx, the format Word has used since 2007. Open an older .doc file in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
How are headings detected?
From Word's built-in heading styles. Text that only looks like a heading, such as big bold text in the Normal style, comes through as a paragraph. Apply Heading 1 to 6 in Word for the best result.
What happens to images?
You choose: drop them, or embed them in the Markdown as base64 data. Embedded images make the file much larger but keep everything in one place.
