What makes a good URL slug?
Short, lowercase, hyphen-separated and descriptive. Include your main keyword, drop filler words and avoid dates or IDs that will age. A reader should guess the page topic from the URL alone.
Should I use hyphens or underscores?
Hyphens. Google treats hyphens as word separators but reads underscores as joining words together, so use-hyphens-like-this for every slug.
Does it handle accented characters?
Yes for accented Latin letters: café becomes cafe, naïve becomes naive. Non-Latin scripts like Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic or CJK can't be safely transliterated, so those characters are removed and the tool tells you when the result comes out empty.
Should I remove stop words?
Optional. Removing words like a, the and of keeps slugs short, but keep them when they aid readability or change meaning. The toggle lets you choose.
