Schema markup validator

Check the JSON-LD structured data on any URL, or paste code before you publish it. The validator finds syntax errors, missing required and recommended properties for Google's rich result types and badly formatted values.

Reads the JSON-LD in the HTML the server returns. Markup added only by JavaScript won't show up.

Enter a URL to check its structured data, or paste code.

Every JSON-LD item is checked against Google's required and recommended properties. Try the example to see a product with two mistakes.

How it works

Three steps, no signup.

1

Enter a URL or paste code

Fetch the JSON-LD from a live page, or paste a script block or raw JSON you are still writing.

2

See every entity

Each schema type is listed with its properties, including nested items and @graph entries.

3

Fix errors first

Errors block rich results. Warnings are recommended properties that make your result more complete.

FAQ

Schema Markup Validator questions.

What is the difference between errors and warnings?

Errors are missing required properties or invalid values that make a type ineligible for rich results. Warnings are recommended properties Google can use but does not require.

Which schema types are checked?

The validator checks Google's main types, including Article, Product, Offer, Review, AggregateRating, Organization, LocalBusiness, BreadcrumbList, Event, Recipe, VideoObject, JobPosting, SoftwareApplication, WebSite, ProfilePage, Course, product variants (ProductGroup) and FAQPage. Other schema.org types still get a syntax and format check.

Does valid schema guarantee a rich result?

No. Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show a rich result based on quality and the query. Some types no longer show at all: Google retired HowTo rich results in 2023 and FAQ rich results in May 2026.

Does it read microdata or RDFa?

The validator parses JSON-LD, the format Google recommends. If a page uses microdata or RDFa instead, the validator tells you it found that markup so you know it exists.
