FAQ

On-Page SEO Checker questions.

What does the on-page checker look at?

Title tag, meta description, H1 count and text, the full H1 to H6 outline, canonical tag, meta robots, language, viewport, image alt attributes, internal and external links, Open Graph tags, structured data and word count.

Why measure titles in pixels?

Google cuts titles at roughly 600 pixels on desktop, not at a fixed character count. Wide letters fill that space faster, so the checker estimates the rendered width in Google's font.

Should a page have only one H1?

Google says multiple H1s are fine, but one clear H1 that matches the page topic is the safest pattern. The checker flags pages with no H1 and warns when there are several.

Does it render JavaScript?

No. The checker reads the HTML your server returns, which is what most crawlers see first. If your titles or headings only appear after JavaScript runs, they will show as missing here.
