Disavow file generator

Paste the toxic links or domains you want Google to ignore and get a correctly formatted disavow.txt, using domain: entries and comments, ready to upload in the Disavow Tool.

One per line

Optional note added to the top of the file

Disavowing is rarely needed — Google ignores most spam automatically. Only use this for a manual action or a clear pattern of toxic links. Disavowing good links can hurt rankings.

FAQ

Disavow File Generator questions.

What is a disavow file?

A text file that tells Google to ignore specific backlinks when assessing your site. It is used when spammy or manipulative links point at you and you cannot get them removed manually.

Should I disavow links?

Rarely. Google is good at ignoring spam on its own. Only disavow if you have a manual action for unnatural links, or a clear pattern of toxic links you believe is harming you. Disavowing good links can hurt.

What is the difference between domain and URL entries?

A domain: entry disavows every link from that whole site, which is the right choice for spammy domains. A plain URL disavows just one page. Most disavow files use domain: entries.

How do I submit the file?

Save it as a plain text file with UTF-8 encoding and upload it in the Google Disavow Links Tool for the correct Search Console property. It replaces any previous file you uploaded.
