Where does the update data come from?
Recent updates come from Google's own Search Status Dashboard, which lists confirmed ranking updates with start and end times. Older milestones such as Panda and Penguin are dated from Google's announcements and confirmations, linked on each entry.
What is a core update?
A broad change to Google's ranking systems, released several times a year. Core updates don't target specific sites. Pages can rise or fall as Google reassesses relevance and quality.
My traffic dropped during an update. What should I do?
Wait until the rollout finishes, then compare the pages that lost traffic with the pages that now rank. Improve content quality and usefulness rather than chasing quick fixes.
How often is this list updated?
The page refreshes from Google's dashboard every few hours, so a new update usually appears the same day Google confirms it.
